Future Illicit Opposition is Res. Champion Foal at the National Hunter Show!
After a very busy day at the BEF Elite Championship Show on Sunday, we were back at Addington again on Tuesday for the National Hunter Show. We only took one mare and foal to show – Future Illicit Affair and her foal Future Illicit Opposition (Lily). We entered them in the Lightweight Hunter Broodmare and Foal, and were over the moon when from a class of 17 (yes SEVENTEEN!) the judge tipped his bowler to Lily pulled her in as the winning Lightweight Foal!
She went forward to the Foal Championship and came tantalisingly close to repeating the feat of her full brother Future Illusion when he won the Lightweight Hunter Foal before being crowned Champion Foal in 2004. Unfortunately the dream wasn’t quite fulfilled but we were still delighted when she was pulled forward as Res. Champion Foal.
We also took our lovely TB mare Persephone Heights for grading with SHB(GB) and were delighted that they regarded her highly enough to award her the top grading status of Head Stud Book. This means that 5 of our broodmares now have Head Stud Book status with 2 others, Juswith Genoa and Cornish Faer having Elite Head Book status.
