Future Gravitas is the No.1 Ranked Sire of Eventing Youngstock at the 2015 BEF Futurity Series!

FUTURE GRAVITAS IS THE NO.1 RANKED SIRE OF BEF FUTURITY EVENTING YOUNGSTOCK IN 2015!!

We were very excited to get an invitation down to Bury Farm where the British Breeding Stallion Parade was taking place, to pick up the award for being the Leading Sire of Eventers at the Futurity for our young stallion Future Gravitas. It was an incredible achievement for him given he had only been at public stud for the first time the previous year, and so this was his first crop of foals presented to the Futurity. His stable mate, our senior stallion Future Illusion also won this award as a first season stallion in 2008, and again in 2009.

The award is based on the criteria used by the BEF which is the average of the top 5 scores, and was very kindly sponsored by the Competition Stallion Guide (in which both our boys are represented). Given Future Gravitas only had 6 youngstock forward for evaluation as it was his first commercial crop of foals, all but one score had to count for his average putting him at a significant disadvantage to some older stallions who had foals, yearlings, 2 year olds and 3 year olds whose scores could count, enabling them to cherry pick the best 5 scores to make up their average. Even with this handicap, Future Gravitas still managed to gain a higher average mark than all the other stallions from both Britain and Europe who had eventing stock presented.

Interestingly the No.2 ranked stallion in 2015 is Grafenstolz – Future Gravitas’s own sire. On the All Time Sire Rankings, Future Gravitas also ranks just above his sire, showing the power of genetics.

All Future Gravitas’s offspring received Higher First Premiums or First Premiums. This shows fantastic consistency and prepotency in the performance genes and their ability to be passed on. When you add into the mix that Future Gravitas’s dam has already produced multiple International horses, including an Olympic, World and Pan Am Games medalist, it gives you great hope that Future Gravitas will pass performance from BOTH sides of his pedigree.

Future Gravitas himself has already qualified for the BE Breeding 5 Year Old Championships by emphatically winning his section by over 5 marks, setting a 2015 British Eventing Record Dressage Score of just 17 penalties in the process.

Fingers crossed that both his performance and production continue as they have started!!
