ABOUT

The damline of Lucky Gem is steeped in performance with a remarkable ‘hit rate’ for producing International performers. The foundation mare for this dynasty was Faerie Dazzler – herself a CCI5* eventer – who went on to produced Jonelle Price’s Luhmuhlen CCI5* winner Faerie Dianimo, Tim Price’s CCI5* campaigner Xavier Faer who was 2nd at Lexington CCI5* and 3rd at Badminton CCI5*, and Jonelle’s CCI4* eventer Faerie Magnifico. Faerie Dazzler also produced Faerie Maybe (by Mark Todd’s CCI4* thoroughbred stallion Mayhill) who was not competed. Faerie Maybe is Lucky’s Gem’s maternal grand-dam.

Lucky Gem's sire is the clone of the thoroughbred Olympic showjumper Gem Twist. Her dam-sire is the 1.60m jumper Flipper d'Elle and her grand dam-sire is Mark Todd's thoroughbred CCI4* eventer Mayhill. Mayhill is perhaps best known for siring Pippa Funnell's famous CCI5* eventer Primmore's Pride who was 7yo Young Event Horse World Champion and then went on to win Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky CCI5*s as well as taking individual Bronze and team Silver at Athens Olympics.
