Heresy is line bred on the exceptional thoroughbred sire Heraldik xx who was the WBFSH No.1 ranked sire of Eventers for 5 consecutive years and held a top 3 place for a further 4 years. Her sire, Heraldik, has sired International 5* event horses Butts Abraxxas, Butts Avedon, Butts Leon, TSF Karascada M, and Happy Times. He is also the dam-sire of Michael Jung’s World and European Champion La Biosthetique Sam. As well as being famous as the most successful thoroughbred sire of eventers in the world, he also sired numerous GP showjumpers including Herald III, Highlight and Hennessy, and GP dressage horses such as H-Ekwador, Heraldik Star and Hidalgo.

Heresy’s dam herself successfully showjumped taking several wins. She descends from a prolific performance line. The first four dams in his bottom line are responsible for over 64 horses jumping at 1.40m or above.  This includes, ‘Chanyon’ who was 6th individually at Tokyo Olympics, ‘Ben Maher’s 1.50m horse ‘Wintu’, ‘HS Chaccophanie’ the Danish Nations Cup Silver Medalist, Paul Schockemohle’s great stallion Qualdandro, and ‘Embassy II’ who won over 1 million euros in prize money… From this same 4 generation dam line comes Team GB rider Yasmin Ingham’s Nations Cup eventer Night Line, who was 5th at Burnham Market CCI4* and 8th at Bicton 4* in 2021, as well as 16th at Pau 4*. The breadth and depth of this motherline is quite exceptional.

Heresy’s sire Black Jack placed in CSI3* level competitions in 2014 under the world class rider, Jerry Smit, after he had qualified twice for the Bundeschampionat as well as winning in the international Youngster Tour as a seven-year old. Black Jack has gone on to sire many international horses including CCI4*eventers Black Rock H and Black Pearl Z, and 1.50m showjumper Ben Hardy.
