Future Illusion finishes the 2010 season with a spotless Cross Country record!
We are delighted that after his first full season competing, Future Illusion has finished without a single cross country jumping penalty, with the majority of his runs being at BE100 (Pre-Novice) level. His season has again unfortunately been slightly disrupted through the demands of his very heavy stud commitments, but we’re pleased we still managed to get 8 runs in total for him. He had to compete HC in his initial three BE90 (Intro) classes as Jeanette is over-qualified at that level, but would have been 3rd in two of them, and would have won both of those had Jeanette done more than canter him round and got the time xc, but what’s the point when you’re HC and training a young horse to be polite xc?
In his six BE100 events he was placed three times, and just missed out on a top ten place a further twice, being 11th on both occasions. So from six runs he was in the top 11, five times, with his best result being 4th at Catton Park. Not bad for a first season when you’re time is being split between stud work and competitions! Louis is now back home for a well deserved holiday before spending the winter jumping and dressaging.
