Dampfross,
seen as one of the most important lines in the development of
the Trakehner breed, standing out as being particularly good
for transmitting exceptional riding qualities. Used both in
the central stud and on a regional level, Dampfross rose to
fame in particular as the sire of numerous licensed stallions.
With a striking ability to pass on to his progeny his incredible
presence, sturdy, correct conformation and excellent ground
covering, energetic, elastic paces, his descendants were also
much appreciated as riding horses because of their easy, even
and generous temperaments. In all, approximately 50 of Dampfross's
sons served at East Prussian regional studs. His influence was
spread even wider by his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
