Future Illusion parades at Brackenspa Stud Open Day!

We were delighted that following his accident in the stable, Future Illusion was well enough to parade in hand at the Brackenspa Stud Open Day. He will be based at Brackenspa this season and can be viewed there if you were unable to come ot the Open Day. Below is a photo taken by a friend of Future Illusion in the indoor school. He behaved impeccably, which given his long period of box rest, was a testament to his tremendous temperament. He now has a new group of admirers following his demonstration on the lunge!

My visit to see Future Promise in the USA !

I was lucky enough to be able to visit our young mare Future Promise in Virginia in the USA in late January. It was great to see her looking so happy and to spend some time with her owners Byron and Kristy Poindexter. We had fun taking a trip into Washington DC in a stretch Hummer to celebrate a friend's birthday, and had a fabulous meal in a lovely restaurant.

Son of Desir du Chateau is crowned 7 Yr Old FEI WORLD SHOWJUMPING CHAMPION !

We are absolutely thrilled that a son of the stallion Desir du Chateau who Future Sport Horses exclusively represents in the UK on behalf of his owner Morningside Stud, has just become the 7 Yr Old WORLD SHOWJUMPING CHAMPION at the Young Horse Showjumping World Championships at Lanaken. We were convinced of Desir's potential as a top class sire of both showjumpers and eventers and this result demonstrates that belief correct. Desir's sire Quidam de Revel was also featured in the results, being the sire of the 8th placed horse "Uvettas" in the 6 Yr Old World Breeding Championship Final.

In addition to siring International showjumpers and eventers, Desir produced a stunning filly out of our mare Cornish Gem in 2009, Future Coeur de Reine, who went on to become the Highest Graded Event Foal of the year in 2009 at the BEF Futurity, and remains the all-time 2nd Highest Graded Event Foal, behind another of Future Sport Horses young stars, Future Gold Digger.

We have Allercombe Loveday in foal to Desir for next year and the foal is already sold subject to first refusal by FSH, and Cornish Gem is back in foal to him for her owner British Chairman of International Selectors, Bridget Parker.

If you're looking for a tall, scopey, blood stallion for next season, Desir du Chateau should be absolutely top of your list. He has proved he can sire not only top class showjumpers but also International standard eventers. His pedigree is a who's who of performance horses. Don't miss out on using this stallion next season! Here's the link to his page - Desir du Chateau

Future Illusion finishes the 2010 season with a spotless Cross Country record!

We are delighted that after his first full season competing, Future Illusion has finished without a single cross country jumping penalty, with the majority of his runs being at BE100 (Pre-Novice) level. His season has again unfortunately been slightly disrupted through the demands of his very heavy stud commitments, but we're pleased we still managed to get 8 runs in total for him. He had to compete HC in his initial three BE90 (Intro) classes as Jeanette is over-qualified at that level, but would have been 3rd in two of them, and would have won both of those had Jeanette done more than canter him round and got the time xc, but what's the point when you're HC and training a young horse to be polite xc?

In his six BE100 events he was placed three times, and just missed out on a top ten place a further twice, being 11th on both occasions. So from six runs he was in the top 11, five times, with his best result being 4th at Catton Park. Not bad for a first season when you're time is being split between stud work and competitions! Louis is now back home for a well deserved holiday before spending the winter jumping and dressaging.

Future Illusion is the Best British Bred Sire across ALL Disciplines at the British Equestrian Federation Futurity Series for the 2nd Year Running!

We were very proud of our homebred boy Future Illusion, who for the second year running is the Best British Bred Sire across all disciplines at the BEF Futurity Series. In addition to being the No1. ranked sire of Event youngstock in 2009, he finished a very close 2nd this year, underscoring his incredible consistency. We would like to congratulate all our clients who took youngsters by Future Illusion (Louis) for grading, with ALL Louis's foals again scoring 1st, Higher 1st or Elite Premiums as Eventers. All the scores which formed part of his ranking were achieved by youngsters owned and bred by clients, so a very big "Well Done!" to everyone.

In addition to this 2 youngsters by Louis have qualified for the BEF Championship being held at the British Eventing Breeding Championships at Osberton at the beginning of October. We will be there supporting Sue Hicks and her Elite Foal "Uptown Girl" who went very close to being the No.1 ranked Event Foal in the UK, and Keighley Raftery with her 2 year old gelding Future Fine Illusion.

We believe Future Illusion is the ONLY Stallion to have the outstanding record of siring 1st Premium or higher Event foals from ALL of his 4 crops to date. A quite remarkable achievement. We are now looking forward to next year's Futurity Series where we hope Future Illusion can make it 3 years in a row!

6th Sept 2010 Future Illusion parades at Burghley Horse Trials!

We were delighted that Future Illusion was selected to parade at the prestigious Burghley Horse Trials Stallion Parade which is reserved for proven event stallions, and stallions most applicable to our sport. He behaved perfectly showing off his flying changes and even performed a gallop past the commentary box for good measure. To see the video of him in the parade just click this link:---->Future Illusion at Burghley

Future Illusion foal is the Highest Graded Horse of the day at the Tall Trees BEF Futurity !

Very many congratulations to Sue Hicks who took her filly foal Uptown Girl (by Future Illusion) for evaluation as an Event foal and was awarded a outstanding ELITE Premium with the superb mark of 91.4%. Uptown Girl was the Highest Scoring Horse of the day across all disciplines and all ages!! At the end of the Futurity Series Uptown Girl is the 2nd Highest graded event foal in the Country (from in excess of 100 event foals) and the 9th highest graded horse of any age and any discipline (from over 900 horses!) will qualify for the BEF Elite Championship at the BE Breeding Championships at Osberton next month. Well done to Sue and her helper Chantel!

Affordable and exciting new Syndication programme launched for Future Sport Horses!

We are thrilled to be able to announce the launch of a new programme of syndication opportunities for our leading young horses. Using racehorse syndication as a model, Future Sport Horses will syndicate potential top-level equine candidates into 100 shares, resulting in affordable share price and monthly training fees. Young horses are reviewed annually, and a select number are made available for syndication. Each horse has its own terms and conditions, but all horses are covered by the umbrella syndicate “Future Sport Horses Syndicate”. The share price for each horse available for syndication will vary depending on their level of training and potential.

The Syndicate has several aims –

  1. You - To create a team of like-minded supporters who wish to enjoy the skill and thrill of our sport, whilst developing new friendships through a shared interest, in beautiful settings throughout the United Kingdom, in an affordable way.
  2. The Horses – To continue the fabulous education they are receiving from British Olympic rider Jeanette Brakewell in order to reach their full potential

The first horse made available for syndication is Future Genie, who is the eldest sibling to Olympic Individual Silver medallist and three-time winner of the Kentucky Rolex CCI****, ‘Winsome Adante’. Winsome Adante is one of the most successful event horses ever bred in the United Kingdom. Sold to America as a young horse and has done the majority of his winning wearing the Stars and Stripes rather than the Union Jack.

So if you've always wanted to own an event horse but felt it was out of reach, think again! You can now own a share in an up and coming young horse who is being ridden by one of Britains best riders!

8th Jun 2010 No Foal No Fee terms available on Future Illusion from 6th July!

Future Illusion will be taking a break from his training commitments with Jeanette Brakewell for 2 months from 6th July until the end of August to stand at stud full time. We appreciate the fees involved in breeding and how the costs associated with multiple attempts can rack up which is why for the first time, if you've been unable to get your mare in foal to another stallion, we are making Future Illusion available on terms where you only pay a stud fee if your mare is scanned in foal. Terms apply to fresh and chilled semen.

Future Illusion was the No.1 ranked Sire of Eventing Youngstock at the BEF Futurity last year and his offspring have won numerous County Show classes from Hacks, through Riding horses and Sport Horses to Hunters. He has incredible versatility coupled with a superb temperament which he passes on in spades to his offspring.

Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your situation - we'd be delighted to hear from you.

His details are available on his web page---> Click here

Future Perfect Illusion wins the Yearling Sporthorse Class at Midland Counties Show !

We took our young colt Future Perfect Illusion (by Future Illusion) over to Midland Counties Show for his first outing of the season. It was intended to be an educational outing as he'd not been to a show since the end of last season when he was still a foal at foot. Even a tyre blowing out on the lorry on the way to the Show, and subsequent hanging around on the roadside didn't phase him. We missed the first class we'd hope to contest as a result of the puncture, and had over 3 hours to wait around once we reached the Show for his second class. He behaved impeccably both outside and inside the ring and was rewarded by winning the Yearling Sport Horse class. After being stuck on the lorry for so long on the way to the Show we were concerned that he might not want to load onto the lorry again to go home. Our concerns were groundless as he trotted straight up the ramp. We were absolutely thrilled with his attitude and behaviour during what was a testing day for a young colt, and winning his class was really the icing on the cake.

Brilliant weekend at Bradwall Horse Trials!

We took both our 6 year olds to Bradwall Horse Trials in the lovely Cheshire countryside and enjoyed a wonderful weekend with both Future Illusion and Future Genie jumping double clears in their respective sections. Future Illusion ran in the BE 90 class and had the joint top dressage score in his section of 29.5, which he followed up with a double clear sj and xc. As he had to compete HC because Jeanette is over qualified for this level, Jeanette didn't chase the time xc because the ground was quite firm and it would not achieve a result, so he just added a further 1.6 time penalties. If he'd been able to be placed, he would have been 3rd, and without the time xc he'd have been joint 1st.

Future Genie shone again in the Novice section, with a 25.7 dressage which she also followed up with a double clear sj and xc. She also added just 1.6 time penalties to her dressage score to finish on 27.3 over a strong track which included a step up, bounce to a brush at fence 3, a fence in the water, a broken bridge and a double of corners amongst other obstacles! We were delighted with the positive maner she attacked the xc and was rewarded with 2nd place in the section. From 2 of her 3 Novice runs now she has had a 1st and 2nd place, and has jumped clear xc in all 3!

Future Jurisdiction flies out to the USA!

A daughter of our young stallion Future Illusion flew out yesterday to her new home in Ohio, USA. It's very exciting for us to have the first youngster by Future Illusion out there and we wish the very best of luck to her new owner Elizabeth Chiaviello Bradford and hope they have a fantastic career together. Below are some photos of 'Dolce' being loaded on to the flight crates at Stanstead Airport.
