Performance
Holme
Grove Prokofiev was graded in Alsfeld January 1998 with judges comments
including,"..a considerable talent for jumping. Very good
walk and trot with much power and perfect knee action. Excellent
canter. Presents himself well with very little nerves."
Already
showing great talent and ease of character under saddle with dressage
rider Julia Wetton he passed his 100 Day Performance testing in
Germany in October 1999 scoring 9's for temperament, rideability
and attitude to work and 10 for stamina. In his first competition
season in 2002 he qualified for the Summer Regional Championships
at Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium Level. He was 2nd at the
2003/4 Winter Regional Championships at Medium level and has qualified
for the Winter Finals, ridden by Peter
Storr (see comments below from Horse 26th Feb 2004) -
Addington
Manor - ".... The medium qualified also went to Peter, this
time riding Julia Wetton's Holme Grove Prokofiev on their first
outing together. Julia who trains with Peter, is expecting a baby,
so handed the ride to him..."
Midlands
Semi-Finals - "... Peter Storr gave the eye-catching stallion
Holme Grove prokofiev a good ride in the Medium Open to take second
place. He took over the reins only 3 weeks ago from Julia Wetton,
who is on maternity leave..."
He is now competing at PSG level.

Progeny
HG
Prokofievs first crop of foals were born in 1999. All his
progeny are taking his wonderful elastic movement and easy temperament
and promise a great future under saddle as the first to be backed
have shown very trainable attitudes.

HG
Prokofievs sire is the Russian thoroughbred stallion Beg
xx, who has retired to stud in Bavaria after many years firstly
winning money racing on the track, show jumping to the equivalent
of Grade A level whilst at the same time winning Grand Prix Dressage
competitions in Germany. Beg xx stands in the same stable where
Holme Trakehners foundation stallion Holme Grove Istanbul stood
before he came to England. The same stable manager has worked at
the stud now for more than 25 years who said of Beg and I quote
"He is a fantastic stallion with great character, a dream!"
Pilar
III is by the Grand Prix Dressage stallion Goldino
who has already produced two graded sons in Germany from his first
crop , they are Up To Date (Goldino Bartoldy Holme
Grove Istanbul) and Reserve Champion and Premium Graded Uljanoff
(Goldino Holme Grove Istanbul Harlekin) who sold for
DM250,000. He was only upstaged by a half brother to Goldino both
being out of the same mare Gondola II (who interestingly was a surviving
twin) by Ibikus. This time however she had been bred to Kostolany
to produce Gribaldi
who was awarded Champion Stallion and sold to Holland for DM300,000,in
the same year. Very closely related also to Goldino is the Advanced
Dressage Stallion Van
Deyk currently competing with Dorithee Schneider, he also is
by the TB Partricius xx out of an Ibikus daughter.
Primadonna III is by the Premium stallion Insterfeuer a show jumping
line with his brother Passat by Pelion producing the International
Show Jumping mare Parodie.
