Winner of:

  • The Horse & Hound Award for Leading Sire of Eventers 1999
  • BHF Top TB Stallion in Eventing 1998, 1999 and 2001
  • Highest Rise up the BHD rankings in eventing 1998
  • Champion Sire of Young Horses 1995, 1997, 1998 (and 2nd in 1996)
  • Sire of winning BYEH in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001 and had placed horses in all years

Primitive Rising had the speed to win over 7f as a 2yr old, but also the stamina to win a Group race over 2 miles, beating the likes of Almarad, Sadeem and Sergeyevich.

His stunning looks and extravagant movement caught the attention of many breeders outside racing and as a result became a favourite sire in producing high class 3 Day Event horses. In 2000 alone he had 5 qualifiers for the Burghley Young Event Horse Finals.

He has left a number of stallion sons who will hopefully continue the legacy Primitive Rising created before his premature death in 2002.
